Role overview

We are hiring experienced Linespersons to strengthen our Southern Electric Power Distribution teams. This is a hands-on field role for qualified professionals who can contribute immediately and build a long-term career within a stable, safety-focused energy business.

Location

Possible base locations include Poole, New Forest, Yeovil, Salisbury, West London, Slough, Reading, Swindon, Melksham, Andover, Oxford, Portsmouth, Isle of Wight, Basingstoke, Aldershot, and Petersfield.

Pay and working pattern

The role offers a typical overall earnings level of about £50k OTE. The base pay is £36,139 to £43,188, with additional overtime and standby payments. This is a permanent, full-time position, with flexible-first options available.

What you will do

The job involves construction and repair work across networks from low voltage through to 11kV and 33kV. You will work outdoors in all weather, respond quickly to emergency situations, and may be required to attend on short notice during storm events. Standby duties outside normal hours are part of the role.

What you need

This is not a trainee role. Applicants must already hold DNO electrical qualifications and have previous experience as an electrical linesperson. Experience in the UK or overseas with recognised overhead line qualifications at LV, HV, 11kV, and 33kV level is required, with 11kV live-line experience considered a strong advantage.

You should have a strong background in the construction, repair, and operation of electrical plant and equipment. A full UK driving licence is essential.
