About the role
Leigh & Co. Events is an expanding wedding planning business that helps engaged couples with wedding design, coordination, and full planning support. The Lead Wedding Coordinator role is a contract opportunity for someone who wants to work as a wedding planner. You can choose your own schedule, and training is included. This position is intended for the 2026 season and future projects as well.
The assignment is primarily onsite and involves serving as the lead planner for weddings in partnership with client experience managers and assistant coordinators.
Compensation
The assignment pays $400 per project for approximately 10 to 12 total hours of work.
Key duties
- Join the client’s final details call around six weeks before the wedding to review logistics, timing, and expectations.
- Run the ceremony rehearsal the day before the wedding so everyone understands the sequence, timing, and major cues.
- Act as the couple’s main onsite support, staying composed and solution-oriented if issues come up.
- Supervise the ceremony and reception setup so it matches the planned design and the day-of execution guide.
- Manage the event from the first vendor arrival until cleanup and breakdown are completed at the end of the night.
- Welcome vendors, guide them on site, and serve as the central contact person throughout the event.
- Relay setup directions to vendors clearly so the overall plan is carried out correctly.
- Help place personal and décor items such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and other design elements.
- Support the wedding party and family with timing cues, direction, and any day-of assistance they need.
- Make sure gifts, guest books, personal décor, and similar end-of-night items are packed and accounted for.
- Handle unexpected issues and last-minute changes quickly to keep the guest experience running smoothly.
Requirements
- Weekend availability is required.
- You must have at least 2 years of experience working as a wedding planner or event planner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with excellent attention to detail.
- You need dependable transportation.
- You must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
