IT Security Specialist

Job Summary

The organization is looking for a seasoned IT Security Specialist to protect its technology environment through preventive controls, continuous threat monitoring, management of security platforms, incident handling, and adherence to recognized cybersecurity standards and best practices.

Core Responsibilities

• Track security alerts and take action on cyber threats and incidents as they arise.
• Administer and support tools such as firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, VPN, and endpoint protection systems.
• Perform vulnerability reviews, risk evaluations, and security compliance audits.
• Design, deploy, and maintain security controls for cloud and network environments.
• Maintain alignment with ISO 27001, NIST, and related security frameworks.
• Assist with business continuity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and incident response execution.
• Work closely with internal IT teams and external vendors to strengthen the overall security stance of the organization.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a closely related discipline is required.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in IT security or cybersecurity roles.
• Practical, hands-on exposure to Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Security, SIEM platforms, firewalls, and vulnerability assessment utilities.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server hardening, network defense, cloud protection, and current cybersecurity practices.

Preferred Certifications

• CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification is preferred.
• Vendor certifications from Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft Security, or similar providers are an advantage.
