Role overview
The Human Resources Generalist will be an important part of the People team in New York, taking ownership of everyday HR operations and helping shape the employee experience. This is a visible, hands-on position with broad exposure across HR, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys improving processes and supporting a growing organization.
What you will do
- Serve as a first line of support for employees on HR policies, employee relations issues, and routine people-related questions.
- Work closely with senior HR leaders to support assigned teams and help deliver key People initiatives.
- Handle employee movement processes such as onboarding, offboarding, internal transfers, and changes in role.
- Keep HRIS records accurate and assist with reporting, headcount analysis, and workforce tracking.
- Act as a go-to contact for questions related to HR systems and people data.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders on payroll and benefits-related activities.
- Maintain and refresh HR policies, handbooks, and internal documentation.
- Support visa, immigration, and global mobility administration.
- Contribute ideas and effort toward improving HR processes and enhancing the employee experience.
- Create practical internal materials such as guides, FAQs, and self-service resources.

Experience and qualifications
- 5 to 7+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, ideally in financial services, professional services, or another fast-paced corporate environment.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Solid working knowledge of core HR areas, including employee relations, HR operations, benefits, and HRIS.
- Hands-on experience with HR platforms such as Workday, HiBob, or a comparable system.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets capability.
- Ability to juggle several priorities and stay effective in a growth-oriented or changing environment.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to work with people across all levels of the business.
- Strong attention to detail and well-developed organizational habits.
- A proactive, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and interest in building better processes.
Compensation and benefits
- Base pay is between $150,000 and $180,000.
