Role overview
This is a senior, globally impactful position with a technology and supply chain solutions company. The role focuses on the worldwide sourcing strategy for critical A-commodities, especially Integrated Circuits (ICs) and PCBA board-level components, while supporting strategic customer discussions across global markets.
In this position, you will bridge Sales and Sourcing, acting as a trusted specialist for senior leaders, customers, and suppliers. The work combines commercial leadership, supplier relationship management, market analysis, and cross-regional coordination.
What you will do
- Set and drive the global sourcing approach for ICs and PCBA/BLC categories.
- Develop executive-level supplier partnerships that protect supply continuity and improve pricing outcomes.
- Represent the business in important customer meetings, supplier negotiations, and international industry events.
- Track market movements, pricing trends, and supply risk to support commercial decisions.
- Work closely with Sales to identify opportunities, improve margins, and help close deals.
Key responsibility areas
Strategic supplier and customer engagement
- Establish long-term relationships with major global suppliers.
- Travel regularly for supplier and customer visits across regions.
- Support high-priority customer conversations with senior leadership.
- Negotiate terms that strengthen pricing, supply access, and service support.
Market intelligence and sourcing strategy
- Create and roll out sourcing plans that reflect technology shifts and supply chain changes.
- Monitor worldwide pricing, component availability, geopolitical exposure, and broader market developments.
- Prepare quarterly updates and strategic insights for executive stakeholders.
- Serve as the global expert for the assigned commodity group.
Commercial support and sales enablement
- Collaborate with Sales and Sourcing teams to uncover revenue opportunities.
- Review customer demand, BOMs, and market information to drive proactive selling.
- Assist with pricing strategy and margin improvement efforts.
Reporting and analytics
- Prepare recurring market reports, pricing summaries, and commodity reviews.
- Present findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to executive dashboards and forecasting outputs.
Operational guidance and enablement
- Share best practices for sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Help design and deliver training for global Sales and Sourcing teams.
- Ensure work practices follow procurement, quality, and ethical standards worldwide.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in the electronic components sector.
- Strong knowledge of ICs and PCBA / board-level components.
- Established relationships with global suppliers such as manufacturers, franchise distributors, or equivalent partners.
- Solid understanding of commodity markets, price drivers, and supply chain risk.
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability, and communication skills.
- Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders across different regions and functions.
- Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
- Based in Singapore, or open to China or Taiwan for the right candidate.
