Pay

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You will help maintain a clean and welcoming environment across the facility by completing assigned cleaning tasks on a consistent basis. Duties include cleaning showers, washrooms, floors, and other hard surfaces; replenishing soap, paper products, and similar dispensers; keeping cleaning supplies stocked; washing, drying, and restocking towels; and carrying out other assigned tasks. You will also be expected to provide strong customer service in line with YMCA standards, attend training sessions and staff meetings when required, and help uphold the organization’s cleanliness standards through careful attention to detail.

What We’re Looking For

This job calls for someone with at least one year of experience in a similar setting and familiarity with a range of cleaning tools and equipment. The successful candidate should be comfortable following direction, working with limited supervision, and contributing positively as part of a team. The role requires a strong commitment to an inclusive workplace, as well as the stamina to handle physically demanding work, including frequent stair climbing, some physical effort, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Having WHMIS certification and current Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED is considered an advantage. Flexibility to support cleaning at the Guelph YMCA is also an asset.

Total Rewards and Benefits

Full-time staff at YMCA of Three Rivers receive a well-being-focused rewards package. This includes 3 weeks of vacation at the start, with the chance to earn additional vacation time as service length increases, and 12 well-being days for sick time or proactive self-care that can be used as earned. Bereavement leave is also available. After two consecutive years of employment, full-time employees may join the group pension plan, contributing 5% of gross earnings each pay, matched by the employer; after three consecutive years of full-time service, participation becomes mandatory. Health and wellness benefits begin 3 months after the start date and include prescription drug coverage, basic dental, paramedical services, and vision care. Employees also receive access to an Employee and Family Assistance Program, a free YMCA membership for themselves and their family, and discounts on YMCA programs and services, including childcare.
