About the Role

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS Group, focuses on delivering an excellent two-person delivery experience for customers buying sofas and other furniture. The business supports DFS and Sofology and equips colleagues with training, tools, and support so they can make every customer interaction count.

What the Job Involves

This is a physically active delivery and installation role based in Cork. You will work as part of a two-person team, complete 10 to 15 home deliveries each day, and install furniture inside customers’ homes. The work includes heavy lifting, moving items through stairs and tight spaces, and making sure each delivery is completed carefully and professionally.

Pay and Schedule

The position offers a salary of €32,488 per year, which works out at €15.87 per hour, plus an annual bonus of up to £2,000 paid quarterly for strong service. The rota runs over two weeks: the first week is Monday to Saturday, 48 hours total, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; the second week is Tuesday to Friday, 40 hours total, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The average working pattern is 44 hours per week, and the role is permanent.

Key Duties

You will be expected to deliver furniture into customers’ homes safely and professionally, keep customers informed before arrival, place items in the room requested, and remove any packaging so customers are not left with rubbish. You will also represent the company and its brand partners in line with their values, share feedback with team leaders and managers to improve service, inspect your vehicle and equipment every day, and follow all driving laws and internal policies.

Requirements

Applicants should enjoy working in a supportive two-person team, have held a valid driving licence for at least 12 months, and have no more than 6 penalty points. The role suits someone who is comfortable dealing with people, assisting customers, and handling heavy furniture in a variety of home environments while maintaining a strong focus on safety and pride in their work. No prior experience is required, as full paid training is provided for candidates with the right licence.
