Job overview

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings is seeking a Custodian to support the Haleakalā National Park Summit District in Maui, Hawai'i. This position includes a one-time signing bonus in addition to regular pay.

Key duties

• Deliver custodial support across the Summit District, covering two visitor centers, several administrative offices, one campground, and multiple trailheads.
• Carry out routine cleaning work such as removing trash and recycling, cleaning mirrors and drinking fountains, spot cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, dusting, and disinfecting restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize fixtures and surfaces, including descaling toilet bowls and urinals.
• Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors, and replenish restroom supplies.
• Handle graffiti removal, minor repair-related cleaning support, clogged or blocked toilets, and emergency cleaning needs.
• Assist with special events and complete periodic deep-cleaning assignments.
• Perform any other related duties assigned.

Education and licensing

• High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
• A valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Experience and job requirements

• At least 2 years of custodial experience is required.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 30 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Should be able to plan time effectively so tasks are completed within assigned schedules while maintaining quality.
• Need a working understanding of health and safety rules, including safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Must pay close attention to detail to keep facilities clean, orderly, and presentable to visitors.
• Ability to use small hand tools and portable power tools is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to pass a federal background check.

Compensation and benefits
