Role overview
We are looking for a CAD Designer to join an innovative design and engineering team in West Cumbria. The position suits someone with strong experience in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or Navisworks who can produce accurate 2D and 3D models for complex interior fit-out and building works. This is a chance to contribute to prominent projects for a global specialist in interior fit-out and building solutions.
Compensation
The pay rate for this assignment is £33.00 to £35.00 per hour on a PAYE basis. Assistance with travel costs may be available, subject to review.
Location and working pattern
The role is based in Whitehaven, Cumbria, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for interior fit-out schemes.
- Work with architects, structural specialists, and MEP consultants to align design outputs.
- Turn design intent into practical and constructible solutions for demanding projects.
- Check that all drawings remain technically correct and compliant with design standards.
- Spot opportunities to improve the design and help shape better solutions.
- Support delivery teams in completing interior and envelope works to a high standard.
Required experience and knowledge
- Confident use of AutoCAD for both 2D and 3D work.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, or BIM tools.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP information.
- Previous exposure to ceilings, dry lining, partition walls, encasements, or façade interfaces.
- Good organisational ability, close attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance.
Preferred background
- HND or degree in a relevant technical subject, or equivalent practical experience.
- CAD certification is an advantage.
