Role Overview

eBay is looking for an Apparel Authenticator with strong experience in streetwear, and familiarity with luxury designer apparel is a plus. The position is centered on verifying authenticity, identifying counterfeits, and examining condition, defects, SKU details, and sizing. The ideal candidate will keep pace with apparel launches, trends, and collaborations across both streetwear and high-fashion labels. A multi-brand background is preferred, though deep expertise in one brand may also be considered.

Schedule

This role follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM PST. The workday includes two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect both pre-owned and brand-new fashion items from leading labels to confirm they are genuine.
• Check that item descriptions and physical condition match the product being reviewed.
• Identify counterfeit products and document findings clearly and precisely.
• Keep current on brand movements, product releases, and market trends.
• Work effectively in a busy, fast-moving facility.
• Consistently meet daily quality and productivity targets.
• Share updates, issues, and blockers with managers in a timely way.
• Be prepared to work in a warehouse setting.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a related role is required.
• Strong fashion knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for apparel.
• Ability to analyze items carefully, solve problems, and research concerns when needed.
• Sharp attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Comfort adapting to changing workflows and responsibilities.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and physical ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Working knowledge of standard operating systems, word processing tools, spreadsheets, Slack, and similar software.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $35,600 to $62,500 per year. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and experience. The overall package may also include a target bonus, restricted stock units where applicable, medical and financial benefits, 401(k) eligibility, paid time off, and parental leave.

Employment Terms

This is an at-will position. eBay may change base pay or other discretionary compensation programs at any time based on performance, team results, or market conditions.
