Role Overview
The Account Installation Representative is responsible for setting up and maintaining medical benefit plans accurately within internal platforms and third-party administrator systems. The position ensures that members, providers, and clients receive correct and current information related to eligibility, coverage rules, authorization needs, and claim processing parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Study product documents and policy schedules to design and configure benefit plans for internal systems and TPAs.
- Enter and manage eligibility rules, copays, deductibles, out-of-pocket limits, covered services, provider networks, annual and lifetime caps, and service inclusions or exclusions.
- Support and verify API and data feed connections between internal systems and TPA platforms, including policy enrollment, benefit tables, and provider network data.
- Check group setup details, benefit plan revisions, renewals, and updates; work with underwriting, sales, and client services teams to collect accurate plan information; confirm benefit setup before policy activation to reduce claim issues.
- Partner with underwriting, sales, business support, and policy validation teams to ensure the client and product details are reflected correctly.
- Take part in user acceptance testing for plan setup changes and system improvements.
- Coordinate with TPAs to keep benefit configuration aligned across internal and external platforms.
- Prepare and maintain benefit mapping, data exchange configuration manuals, and related documentation for TPAs.
- Keep setup records, configuration logs, and audit trails in line with regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Work with broader operations teams to support operational readiness so that business support, eligibility, compliance, contact center, and claims functions are ready by the client effective date.
- Investigate and resolve benefit-related mismatches raised by claims or customer service teams between internal systems and TPA platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in benefit setup or insurance policy administration within a health insurance environment.
- Hands-on experience with benefit configuration tools and administrative systems.
- Good understanding of medical coverages, exclusions, policy wording, and product structure.
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements such as CHI, IA, and Nphies.
Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, benefits, and insurance products.
- High attention to detail with solid analytical ability.
- Comfort using MS Office tools, especially Excel and Word, along with data entry systems.
- Good understanding of benefit structures used in SME and corporate policies.
- Experience working with TPA platforms and insurance core systems.
