Role overview

Randstad USA is looking for a hands-on Workday Payroll Functional Consultant to support a U.S. payroll implementation. This assignment is centered on payroll setup, testing, integrations, and support during go-live and the stabilization phase afterward.

Assignment details

The contract is expected to begin within 2–3 weeks after the offer is made. The engagement runs for 6 months with the possibility of extension. The role is fully remote, but candidates must be available to work PST hours. The schedule is 40 hours per week. Compensation is stated at 90–120 USD per hour on W2. What you'll do

  • Set up and maintain Workday Payroll features such as earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax setup, costing allocations, pay slips, and security settings.
  • Work closely with Payroll Operations and implementation teams to review business needs and convert them into Workday-based solutions.
  • Support payroll integrations using Workday EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and APIs.
  • Help with data checks, payroll parallel testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll configuration and integration issues across the project lifecycle.
  • Create and update payroll reports and calculated fields when needed.
  • Make sure payroll processes align with applicable federal, state, and local U.S. regulations.
  • Document system configurations, business processes, test outcomes, and support steps.
  • Hand off knowledge to the business and provide support during post-go-live stabilization.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of direct experience supporting Workday Payroll implementations.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. payroll compliance at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring Workday Payroll.
  • Background in Workday integrations, including EIB, Core Connectors, and Studio.
  • Experience with payroll testing, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving project setting.

Preferred experience

  • Exposure to Workday Reporting and Calculated Fields.
  • Experience integrating payroll with Time Tracking, Benefits, Finance, and third-party payroll vendors.
