Role overview
The Warehouse Technician will assist the Warehouse team with daily operations covering material sampling, internal material handling, and outbound shipments to other sites and external customers. The position places strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement, teamwork, and development, while supporting drug substance manufacturing activities at the facility. The role also involves close collaboration with Supply Chain colleagues, other site functions, and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
The role includes handling goods receipt, sampling, picking and kitting for manufacturing requests, cycle counting, and outbound shipping and logistics, including dangerous goods. It also involves supporting drug substance pack-out activities and recording material offload checks and sampling activity in electronic logs.
The technician will act as a key user for the ERP system COMET (SAP) and the laboratory management system GLIMS. Additional duties include contributing to continuous improvement efforts, supporting quality event investigations as a subject matter expert, serving as a qualified trainer for warehouse tasks, and maintaining strong safety and GMP standards at all times.
Other responsibilities include identifying performance improvement opportunities through cross-functional experience, owning SOPs for a warehouse operational area and updating training materials when needed, and specialising in one of the following areas: Cell Bank Management, Cold Chain Logistics, Material Management, or ERP System Superuser. The role also requires participation in audits, GEMBAs, shopfloor problem-solving, and the Material Availability Tier 0 and Tier 1 boards. Any additional tasks assigned by management will also be part of the job.
Experience and education
Applicants should have 1–2 years of experience in a GMP-regulated environment and a minimum education level of Level 6. Prior use of ERP systems in a manufacturing setting and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools are required. A forklift licence is preferred.
Working conditions
This is a site-based position and shift work is required. Business needs may require changes to the shift pattern, including afternoon shifts and weekend support. The current shift pattern is 16/5, with working hours from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm one week and from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm the following week.
