Role Summary
As a UX Designer, you will shape player-centered experiences that feel clear, engaging, and smooth to use across SGI’s games.
Location Requirement
This is a remote opportunity, but applicants must already be based in British Columbia, ideally in the Greater Vancouver region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual layouts that clearly express how the game works and how players will interact with it.
- Refine game systems, player journeys, and user interface designs through repeated iteration.
- Carry out user research to better understand player expectations, habits, and preferences.
- Improve design concepts using player feedback and insights drawn from data.
- Partner with game developers to make sure the final experience is implemented to a high standard.
- Work with product managers and other stakeholders to align design decisions with business objectives and player input.
- Support the creation and upkeep of studio-wide design standards and guidelines.
- Keep current with industry developments, emerging technologies, and new design practices.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in UX, graphic design, design, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing user experiences for web or mobile products.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates UX thinking and practical problem-solving.
- Hands-on experience with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of game development workflows and core game design principles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Background in user research, usability testing, and data analysis, with the ability to work effectively even when research data is limited.
- Generalist experience in game design.
- Previous work on casual games.
