Role overview
The Green Team in the Manawatū region is seeking a permanent, full-time Temporary Traffic Management Worker to support its expanding traffic management operations in Whanganui.
This position focuses on directing and managing traffic safely, maintaining smooth vehicle movement, and creating secure work areas for the crew through the use of barriers, signs, and cones. The role also includes assisting pedestrians and responding to questions from local residents.
What the job involves
- Managing traffic flow to keep roads and worksites safe.
- Setting up and monitoring barriers, cones, and signage around work zones.
- Helping maintain a safe workspace for colleagues and the public.
- Assisting pedestrians and addressing enquiries from nearby residents.
What you should bring
- Previous traffic management experience, or a willingness to be trained.
- A TTMW qualification at Level 1 or above is preferred.
- A full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence is required.
- Experience operating, or working around, shadow vehicles.
- A strong safety mindset for your own work, your teammates, and the public.
- A dependable, punctual, and driven approach.
- Good physical fitness for active, hands-on work.
- Solid teamwork and problem-solving ability.
