About the role
This position sits within the corporate HR team and acts as a key talent acquisition partner for the business. The main focus is recruiting strong sales talent for the industrial services sector, especially for maintenance and project sales roles. The role works closely with division leadership to understand hiring needs, shape recruiting plans, and deliver well-matched candidates efficiently.
In addition to sales hiring, the recruiter will also support searches for sales leadership, operational leadership, and other important roles across the organization. Success in this role depends on being proactive in sourcing, thoughtful in candidate engagement, and organized in managing the hiring process end to end, all while creating a positive candidate experience and supporting broader business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Run the full recruitment cycle for several divisions, from posting roles and sourcing candidates to screening, interviewing, managing offers, and coordinating onboarding.
- Serve as the main recruitment contact for assigned business units and partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and team culture.
- Create and maintain a healthy candidate pipeline for sales, technical, and leadership positions through outreach, networking, and relationships with schools and professional groups.
- Work closely with division leaders to advise on market talent availability, compensation trends, and effective sourcing approaches.
- Use job boards, trade events, social media, and similar channels to find both active and passive candidates.
- Track industry hiring activity, competitor movement, and pay trends so stakeholders receive timely market insight.
- Provide a strong candidate experience through clear, professional, and engaging communication throughout the hiring process.
- Represent the company at career fairs, industry events, and networking opportunities to strengthen employer branding and attract talent.
- Keep applicant tracking records accurate and current, while ensuring compliance and clean data management.
- Prepare recruitment reports for HR and division leaders, including time-to-fill, source-of-hire, and pipeline status.
- Review recruiting methods regularly and improve them based on data, feedback, and business needs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, with a strong concentration in sales hiring.
- Background recruiting for technical or industrial environments such as HVAC, mechanical services, or building services is preferred.
- Proven ability to recruit across multiple job families, including leadership and technical positions.
- Experience handling several open requisitions at the same time across different business units.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Hands-on experience with ATS platforms such as Paylocity and LinkedIn Recruiter, along with other sourcing tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills for working with candidates and advising hiring managers.
- Experience in a centralized HR or recruiting model is an advantage.
- Prior hiring for roles such as sales engineers, branch managers, or general managers is beneficial.
- Knowledge of union settings or prevailing wage structures is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or CDR are considered an added advantage.
