Vertex Resource Group Ltd. is hiring Swampers in Nisku, Alberta. This position is suited to candidates who already have experience working as a Swamper on Hydrovac units or comparable equipment. Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean commercial driving abstract for the past 5 years. At least 1 year of experience as a Hydrovac or Combovac Swamper is required. Applicants must also hold safety certifications such as First Aid/CPR, Ground Disturbance Level II Supervisory, Confined Space, H2S Alive, and Fall Protection, or similar tickets. A successful 13-panel drug and alcohol test is mandatory. The role also calls for a strong commitment to environmental compliance, safe work methods, independence, time management, physical fitness, reliability, and willingness to take after-hours calls when needed.
Key Duties
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, transport rules, and hazardous materials/waste regulations
- Support operators during Hydrovac work
- Carry out unit cleaning and maintenance to keep equipment functioning efficiently
- Accept direction and coaching from the operator and supervisor
- Deliver consistently strong customer service to support client satisfaction
- Prepare and update required records on time, including daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, and timesheets
- Adhere to all applicable local, provincial, and federal compliance rules
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks, handle routine upkeep, perform general housekeeping on equipment, and report any issues to a supervisor
- Participate in the company’s health and safety programs, rules, and operating practices
