About the role

As a Support Worker, you will help people with intellectual disabilities live meaningful, active lives in their homes and communities. The position calls for a creative approach so each day is engaging, supportive, and worthwhile for the people you assist.

Key duties

• Support people to build everyday living skills, including using public transport and preparing meals.
• Help with personal care and daily routines such as showering, dressing, and taking medication.
• Encourage individuals to pursue their interests, hobbies, and personal goals.
• Promote healthy choices and overall wellbeing.
• Help strengthen relationships with whānau and the wider community.

What you should bring

• Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepovers.
• Confidence using computers and tablets as part of daily work.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• The physical ability to provide hands-on support when needed.
• A full New Zealand driver licence.
