Senior Architectural Engineer

Role Overview

HYKAL is looking for a seasoned Senior Architectural Engineer to take charge of design leadership and site supervision on major, high-visibility developments, including luxury hotel projects and tall buildings. The position calls for deep technical capability, confident decision-making, and the ability to steer architectural work from early concept development through construction delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct architectural design and supervision across large, complex developments, including five-star hotels and high-rise buildings.
• Handle the full project journey, starting from concept design and continuing through construction supervision for design-and-build assignments.
• Examine and sign off on architectural drawings, BIM outputs, and technical documentation.
• Liaise with structural, MEP, and infrastructure teams to keep all disciplines aligned and coordinated.
• Drive master planning, urban design, and landscape-related integration.
• Make sure work complies with local codes, international benchmarks, and project requirements.
• Carry out design evaluations, value engineering exercises, and constructability reviews.
• Oversee on-site implementation to maintain quality, safety, and alignment with the approved design.
• Guide, mentor, and support architectural team members with technical direction and leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from a recognized university is required.
• PMP certification is an advantage.
• At least 15 years of demonstrated experience working on mega projects is required.
• Prior involvement in five-star hotel developments and high-rise buildings is essential.
• Strong experience in designing and supervising design-and-build projects is necessary.
• Certified and attested experience records must be available.
• Hands-on proficiency with architectural design and modeling software is expected, including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 3D modeling, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion, and rendering applications.
• Solid expertise in master planning, softscape, and landscape development is required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination abilities are needed.
• English fluency, both spoken and written, is required.
• A valid Saudi Iqama and driving license are mandatory.
• Candidates must be ready to join immediately.
