About the company

Intercom’s Fin is an AI customer agent built to help companies deliver excellent customer experiences. The product is designed to provide always-on support across the customer journey, including service, sales, and ecommerce. It uses Intercom’s own AI models to resolve complex customer issues end-to-end across every channel with minimal setup and integration. Fin can also work together with Intercom’s natively integrated help desk to create a single system for modern support teams.

Founded in 2011, the business has grown into one of the fastest expanding companies and is among the largest private software companies globally, with nearly 30,000 businesses using its products to improve customer support. The company’s culture emphasizes speed, intensity, boundary-pushing, and delivering strong value to customers.

Role overview

As a Sales Development Representative, you will help build the foundation for Fin’s sales motion by connecting with prospects and customers, explaining the value of Fin, and advancing opportunities through the sales cycle. As the first point of contact for Fin, you will be central to creating a strong first impression and generating momentum for both the sales team and the wider organization. This role is part of a sales organization that is being built to world-class standards, and it is suited to someone who wants to contribute meaningfully from the start.

The team places strong importance on growth and ongoing development. Joining the Sales Development team means becoming part of a group that sees your long-term potential and supports people who are ambitious, adaptable, and eager to improve every day.

What you will do

  • Connect with both prospective and existing customers to determine fit using Fin Inbox, phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Handle multiple fast-moving conversations while keeping the experience positive and engaging for potential customers.
  • Work alongside Account Executives to create pipeline and support deal progression.
  • Stay current on the product and clearly understand the value it brings to customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows over time.
  • Take part in team development and mentoring activities.

Skills and qualities needed

You should bring strong communication ability, active listening, quick thinking, and the discipline to stay organized in a busy environment. The role also calls for curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, teamwork, coachability, and strong self-motivation.

Preferred background

A bachelor’s degree is preferred. The company is looking for candidates with 0 to 3 years of work experience, and sales or SaaS experience is considered an advantage. Familiarity with tools such as SFDC, Outreach, Chilipiper, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gong, Vidu, and Google Suite is also helpful.

Benefits

This role comes with a competitive compensation package that includes equity in a fast-growing startup. Employees receive lunch every weekday, along with snacks and access to a fully stocked kitchen. Compensation is reviewed regularly to recognize strong performance. The company also provides unlimited access to Claude Code and leading AI tools, with a culture that encourages experimentation and building.

Additional benefits include a pension scheme with up to 4% matching, life assurance, and comprehensive health and dental coverage for employees and their dependents. The leave policy is flexible and includes paid maternity leave as well as 6 weeks of paternity leave. There is also support for cycling through a Cycle-to-Work Scheme and secure bike storage. MacBooks are standard equipment, with Windows available for some roles where needed.

Work policy

This is a hybrid role. The company expects employees to work from the office at least three days each week, while also allowing flexibility to work from home. The in-person schedule is intended to support collaboration, connection, and company culture.

Culture and equal opportunity

The organization describes itself as open and accepting, with a workplace approach that avoids divisive topics to help maintain a safe and cohesive environment. It does not advocate on behalf of the company or employees on social or political topics in internal or external communications, while respecting personal views expressed on personal time and personal social platforms. The goal is to keep attention on strong work, shared objectives, and the company’s core values.

The company is committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, age, physical or mental disability, veteran or military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
