About the Role
RROX Aggregates Ltd., an affiliate of Park Paving Ltd., is seeking a dedicated Labourer for its rail transload facility in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This seasonal position involves working with rail-car movers, skid steers, and loaders. The role offers a competitive compensation package and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Unloading gravel and other aggregates from rail-cars and managing stockpiles.
- Operating various heavy equipment, including skid steers, front-end loaders, and stacking conveyors.
- Conducting thorough inspections of rail cars, with a focus on hopper cars.
- Installing necessary securement devices.
- Managing the unloading of aggregates through conveyor belt systems.
- Performing general maintenance on railcars and conveyor systems.
- Ensuring site cleanliness through housekeeping and snow removal duties.
- Operating skid steer machinery.
Requirements
- Experience with rail cars is advantageous, though comprehensive training will be provided.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, front-end loaders, and stacking conveyors is beneficial; training is available.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
- Candidates must possess a driving record free of major infractions.
- Successful completion of a medical and fitness examination is a condition of employment.
- Must be able to thrive in a physically demanding, high-pressure, and productive work setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with operators and crew members.
