About the business
SLR Consulting is an international, multi-disciplinary consultancy known for delivering tailored, high-quality advice and support across strategic and site-specific matters. With more than 1,000 team members across APAC, the business works with a broad and expanding mix of commercial, regulatory, and government clients. The organisation promotes a one-team culture that values different perspectives and collaboration to achieve strong outcomes.
About the role
The Property team is expanding and is looking for a practical, hands-on Property Consultant to join the Auckland office. In this role, you will act as a trusted point of contact for a range of stakeholders. The initial focus will be site acquisition and property advisory work across New Zealand, primarily within the Renewable Energy and Telecommunications sectors, while also supporting wider property needs across SLR’s client base.
This position requires someone who can work autonomously, has experience in rural settings, and is comfortable travelling throughout New Zealand.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of property-related projects and coordinate programs of work.
- Work closely with clients to support the successful delivery of their projects and broader programs.
- Collaborate with the Property team and partner with Planners, Ecologists, and other specialists across New Zealand, including colleagues in Planning, Environmental Services, Acoustics & Vibration, Ecology & Marine Science, and Hydrology & Hydrogeology.
- Focus on producing high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
- Carry out site-based work, including visits to locations that may be remote.
Skills and experience
- Strong understanding of the property market, with a solutions-oriented mindset and an appreciation for the value of industry relationships.
- Broad property experience in areas such as site acquisition, valuation, project management, property management, legal advisory, or general property advisory.
- Experience in site acquisition is preferred, especially within Telecommunications or Renewable Energy.
- LINZ accreditation and familiarity with the Public Works Act are not mandatory but would be an advantage.
- Ability to draw on practical experience and make independent decisions to achieve the best result for clients.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of individuals.
Benefits
The company offers a collaborative environment built around shared success and strong client outcomes. Flexible working arrangements are available, including office-based, home-based, or blended work options. The benefits package is designed to support different working styles and needs.
Hiring process and additional information
Hiring decisions are made based on experience, skills, and enthusiasm for the role. Interview panels are gender-diverse wherever possible. Applicants are asked to include the pronouns they use and mention any reasonable adjustments needed during the interview process.
Unsolicited CVs from recruitment consultants will not be accepted unless the consultant is part of the approved supplier agreement list managed through the Talent Acquisition team.
