Role overview

We are looking for a Project Stores professional to take charge of store activities at a project location in Kolkata, West Bengal. This position requires hands-on ownership of material control, documentation, inventory accuracy, and coordination with multiple site teams to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Run the site store independently and oversee the complete flow of materials.
• Keep inventory data current and accurate in ERP or spreadsheet-based systems.
• Track stock levels closely so materials remain available while avoiding overstocking and outdated items.
• Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
• Safeguard materials by ensuring correct quantities are stored properly and quality is preserved.
• Maintain inward and outward registers, stock ledgers, and bin cards without gaps.
• Manage transfers of materials between sites, including documentation and reconciliation.
• Record and control construction materials, consumables, tools and tackles, formwork, electrical items, and spare parts.
• Update issue and return records for both materials and machinery.
• Work closely with procurement, logistics, and execution teams so site requirements are met on time.
• Ensure storage areas are organized, stacked correctly, and kept in line with safety and quality standards.
• Watch material usage, identify deviations, and report any losses or damage.
• Assist with audits and physical stock checks by sharing correct records and clarifications.
• Apply inventory controls to reduce pilferage and wastage.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of store and inventory operations at project sites.
• Ability to maintain precise records using ERP and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience handling material receipt, inspection, inward/outward tracking, and stock reconciliation.
• Good coordination skills for working with procurement, logistics, and site execution teams.
• Understanding of safe storage practices, inventory control, and stock verification processes.
• Capability to monitor material consumption and report discrepancies promptly.
