Role Overview
As a Project Engineer, you’ll oversee both the administrative and technical sides of a construction project while coordinating a group of field and cost engineers. The role calls for strong people skills, organized information handling, and the ability to act as the communication link between the construction manager and the team on matters such as cost, revenue, and cash flow. It also includes mentoring and developing junior team members.
About the District
The Eastern Canada District works on a wide range of infrastructure and industrial projects, including highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development, open-pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power facilities, dams, and industrial work. The district supports construction and mining activities across Eastern Canada.
Location and Mobility

Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to review contract documents, monitor site conditions, support scheduling and document control, manage cost and cash flow planning, coordinate material procurement, and help maintain quality and safety standards. The role also involves supervising and training less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
This position requires a construction-related degree or an equivalent mix of project/field engineering education and experience. You must also be a licensed P.Eng., an Engineer-in-Training, or eligible to register. A minimum of five years of construction experience with a strong safety focus is required.
Additional Requirements
Regular attendance, timely completion of work, professional communication, and the ability to follow instructions and safety procedures are essential. The role may require overtime, weekend work, and travel or relocation depending on business needs. You should also be able to access all areas of a construction site.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay for this role ranges from $97,142 to $130,000 per year. Final compensation may vary depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
