Role Summary
The Production Engineer will work from the Puducherry location to improve manufacturing performance, strengthen product quality, and support efficient shop-floor operations. The role focuses on process optimization, team coordination, technical problem-solving, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Improve manufacturing methods to raise output, lower operating costs, and enhance product quality.
- Guide and coordinate production teams to keep workflows running smoothly.
- Work with cross-functional teams to introduce process enhancements and new production technologies.
- Track production activity, spot improvement opportunities, and execute corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with safety rules and quality requirements throughout production work.
- Look for ways to increase efficiency, reduce expenses, and streamline processes.
- Provide technical guidance to production staff and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Perform root cause analysis on production problems and put preventive measures in place.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of large-scale manufacturing, including production systems, processes, and quality control practices.
- Hands-on knowledge of process optimization, lean methods, JIT, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities for working effectively with production teams.
- Ability to read and analyze production data to identify patterns, delays, and bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and procedures used to maintain product standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Production Engineer or supervisor, preferably in the electronics sector.
