Product Manager

Role overview

This is a permanent Product Manager position centered on the everyday management of insurance products. You will take responsibility for product changes from start to finish, including pricing adjustments and the preparation of governance documentation. The role offers a high level of independence and a varied workload with clear ownership of each initiative. Wellington is the preferred location, although Christchurch will also be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Manage insurance product activity on a day-to-day basis in a permanent role.
• Lead product change work end to end, including pricing updates and governance papers.
• Work closely with sales, actuarial, and data teams to investigate issues and support decision-making.
• Build and integrate product monitoring and reporting processes into the business.
• Take ownership of projects and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.

Experience and skills needed

• Bring 3 to 5 years of experience in product management, ideally within insurance or financial services.
• Show strong ownership and the ability to drive work independently from beginning to end.
• Be confident managing stakeholders across sales, actuarial, and data functions.
• Have experience preparing governance papers and moving approvals through the process.
• Demonstrate care and precision in product change and pricing-related work.
• Use an analytical approach, including claims analysis, to turn insights into action.
• Have exposure to product monitoring and reporting frameworks, or a genuine interest in developing this capability.
• Work in a proactive, curious way by asking the right questions and keeping things progressing in a busy setting.
