Role overview
This is a senior interim leadership assignment based in Dallas, TX, running for 12 months. The role supports procurement process and operations at a broad level and carries responsibility for governance, process architecture, operational execution, and continuity of strategic programmes. It reports to the VP of Procurement and requires someone who can work independently while keeping multiple workstreams moving.
The position oversees three groups: Process & Policy, Offshore/Operations, and Change Management Enablement. The selected professional will be expected to provide senior-level leadership, keep delivery on track, and act as the main accountable owner for the function during the coverage period.
Compensation
The pay rate is $80.00 to $82.33 per hour on W2, all-inclusive, with no benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day direction to the Process & Policy, Offshore/Operations, and Change Management teams, while removing obstacles, setting priorities, and sustaining team performance and morale.
- Maintain and strengthen the procurement policy framework so it stays up to date, internally consistent, and aligned with control, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the senior escalation contact for policy exceptions, waivers, and governance issues involving Legal, Finance, Compliance, and other partners.
- Keep active process design and transformation initiatives moving, including future-state process mapping, SOP creation, work-instruction documentation, and alignment with system design.
- Ensure process outputs are practical, efficient, and ready for adoption.
- Oversee offshore procurement operations to protect business-as-usual delivery, monitor SOP compliance, and manage capacity effectively.
- Track progress across strategic programme workstreams, including Procurement Excellence initiatives, and make sure milestones remain on schedule.
- Maintain the procurement intranet or organization site and other enablement tools so policy, process, and guidance content remains current and easy to access.
- Support Training & Communications in delivering its programme plan.
- Act as the main senior contact for the VP of Procurement by providing updates, surfacing risks, and representing the function in leadership meetings, offsites, and governance forums.
- Work with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, IT, and the wider business as needed.
- Manage headcount planning for the function, including open requisitions, contingent worker onboarding, and any recruitment activity already underway.
Requirements
- Background as a senior procurement leader with a strong record in procurement operations, process improvement, or governance.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, including offshore or shared-services groups.
- Ability to juggle several parallel workstreams and priorities while remaining accountable for delivery.
- Working knowledge of enterprise procurement tools such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of source-to-pay process design and system configuration principles.
- Confidence communicating with VP- and Director-level stakeholders and influencing across functions without formal authority.
- Preferred exposure to a Centre of Excellence or procurement transformation setting.
- Preferred experience with ERP transition programmes.
