Role overview
Witherslack Group is hiring a Primary Teacher to work with children and young people who have autism spectrum disorder, social, emotional and mental health needs, as well as related additional needs. The role focuses on helping pupils learn, grow their abilities, and build confidence through positive, meaningful progress.
The organisation describes these progress moments as “huge small victories” — the small steps that can make a major difference to a young person’s life. This is a full-time, on-site teaching position based in Bampton, England, United Kingdom, with a salary of up to £53,835 plus excellent benefits.
Setting and student group
You will be based in a rural, well-resourced school environment that supports a small number of young people in a calm setting designed to help them live, learn and develop. The school supports pupils with ADHD, ASD, Asperger’s and SEMH, and has recently been rated Good by Ofsted.
What the role involves
As a teacher, you will help pupils access learning in a way that suits their individual needs and support them in strengthening self-esteem, independence and engagement. The organisation provides support from in-house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals, alongside strong resources and a collaborative team.
The role is designed for someone who is resilient, committed and motivated by visible progress in children and young people with special educational needs.
Benefits and support
You will receive a sector-leading benefits package that includes full induction and on-the-job training, school holidays, development opportunities, flexible benefits, pension options, wellbeing support, medical cover and high-street discounts. There is also a recommendation bonus of £1,000 for each successful friend referral.
Inclusion and safeguarding
Witherslack Group promotes an inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds, identities and abilities. If adjustments are needed during recruitment or in the workplace, support will be provided.
The role is subject to safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check, which the employer will pay for, and an online search. The organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
