Role overview
This opportunity is with a new large indoor entertainment and activity venue in Melbourne, planned to open around September. The centre is designed for children, families, and adults, and will provide a safe, lively, and family-friendly setting with a broad mix of interactive play, sport, and adventure experiences.
The venue will bring together seven key activity areas: a toddler play space, inflatable castle section, trampoline and obstacle course zone, football and basketball courts, a climbing area, a go-karting area, and an adventure activity zone. There will also be dedicated party rooms for birthdays, group bookings, and private celebrations.
As the business moves toward launch, it is looking for a reliable, guest-oriented team member to help with day-to-day operations, visitor experience, safety awareness, event support, and the venue’s long-term success.
Key duties
- Oversee assigned play zones and give guests clear guidance, safety reminders, and practical support to help keep the environment safe and enjoyable.
- Move between different activity areas such as toddler play, inflatables, trampolines, sports courts, climbing, adventure attractions, and go-karting as required.
- Interact with children and parents in a warm, calm, and professional way.
- Watch for possible safety hazards, reinforce safe play expectations, and escalate any incidents or concerns to the supervisor.
- Support birthday functions, group activities, guest check-in, queue flow, zone handovers, and general coordination across the venue.
- Contribute to a tidy and well-kept facility by assisting with light cleaning, equipment organisation, and resetting play areas.
- Work in line with company safety rules, customer service expectations, and operational procedures at all times.
Candidate profile
- Comfortable working with children and families, with a positive, energetic, patient, and service-minded approach.
- Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, children’s entertainment, sports coaching, play centres, or amusement venues would be an advantage.
- Strong spoken English; additional languages such as Chinese, Hindi, or others are considered a plus.
- Availability for shifts that may include weekends, public holidays, school holiday periods, and evenings.
- Physically capable of a hands-on role that involves standing, walking, assisting guests, and helping with basic setup or tidying tasks.
- A current Working with Children Check is preferred, though applicants without one can obtain it after an offer is made.
