Position Summary
In this role, you will support the upkeep of wooden fixtures, equipment, furniture, and associated fittings across the hotel. You will also carry out painting, varnishing, polishing, sign painting, and spray painting work as needed throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Restore and maintain wooden equipment, furniture, and related fixtures across function rooms, banquet stores, banquet offices, guest rooms, and public areas.
- Build or repair items such as partitions, doors, windows, signboards, bulletin boards, boxes, tables, and chairs.
- Create cupboards, shelves, and other furniture, along with the necessary fittings, as required by the hotel.
- Carry out the hotel’s re-grouting programme, ensuring guest rooms, bathrooms, and public-area toilets are grouted on schedule and that all tiling and plasterwork remain in good condition.
- Keep engineering areas throughout the hotel tidy and orderly while following all safety rules and regulations.
- Work closely with colleagues in other departments to support effective communication on operational matters and contribute positively to cross-departmental cooperation.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of basic computer use and practical experience in room maintenance.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Current legal permission to work in Australia.
