Role overview
Join the Auckland Airport team and help improve how airport operations are run by streamlining systems, strengthening processes, and introducing better ways of working. This position is focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and using digital tools to build smarter support models for today and the future.
You will work across airport operations, lounges, and customer airline services, collaborating with leaders and stakeholders to keep operations efficient, safe, and seamless. The role sits within an environment that values practical excellence while also encouraging innovation and customer-focused service.
Key impact areas
- Coordinate operational work across Auckland Airport, lounges, and customer airline services so that priorities, risks, dependencies, and results stay clear and visible.
- Spot ways to reduce manual administration and make workflows more efficient through automation, digital tools, and improved operating methods.
- Promote the use of newer technologies such as AI, ChatGPT, workflow automation, automated triage, and digital reporting to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Build and maintain planning, tracking, and reporting tools that support resource planning and give useful operational insights.
- Run improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects, including timelines, stakeholder engagement, communications, and rollout support.
- Prepare accurate operational documents, reports, and business records with strong governance, version control, and attention to detail.
- Assist with finance and procurement work such as purchase orders, invoice handling, expense processing, administration tasks, and cost tracking while following internal processes.
What success looks like
Success in this role means improving operational performance, cutting down manual effort through scalable solutions, increasing transparency in day-to-day work, and embedding sustainable practices that support safe and reliable airport operations.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with established experience in operational support, business operations, project coordination, continuous improvement, or business administration in a complex working environment. You should bring a strong analytical mindset, confidence with digital tools, and the ability to question existing approaches and turn ideas into practical solutions.
Comfort using Microsoft 365 tools such as Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint is important, along with the ability to work across other business systems. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are also needed so you can influence outcomes across operational and corporate teams.
Experience in aviation, transport, logistics, infrastructure, or another safety-focused environment is helpful, though it is not required.
