NPLQ Lifeguard

Role overview

We are looking for a qualified Lifeguard to join Haven in New Quay, Wales. This role is focused on keeping swimming areas safe, helping guests enjoy the water with confidence, and delivering a friendly, attentive experience.

The position is available on a full-time, part-time, or seasonal basis and pays £12.71 per hour.

What you will do

• Keep a close watch on swimming areas to help prevent incidents and protect guest safety.
• Act quickly in emergencies by carrying out rescues and giving first aid when required.
• Apply pool and facility rules to maintain a safe, positive environment for everyone.
• Carry out routine checks on pool equipment and the surrounding facilities.
• Help keep the pool area clean, tidy, and well organised.
• Support guests with questions or concerns and provide helpful customer service.

What we are looking for

• A valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
• Strong swimming ability.
• Good judgement, awareness, and quick decision-making.
• The ability to stay focused and respond fast in emergency situations.
• A welcoming, approachable manner with clear communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Additional checks

The successful candidate must complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting work.
