Descrição da vaga

Role Overview

The Network & Infrastructure Administrator will serve as the main hands-on steward of campus-wide technology infrastructure at one of Seattle’s most recognizable, high-traffic visitor destinations. This position supports the systems that keep daily operations running across the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, IMAX at the Center, retail outlets, and operational facilities.

This is a practical, on-the-ground IT role in an active guest-facing setting, where technology has a direct impact on visitor experience, events, and business operations throughout the year. It is not a conventional desk-based IT job.

For the right candidate, this position provides a strong blend of ownership, variety, and visible operational impact in a unique landmark environment.

Environment and Scope

The role covers a fast-moving setting where technology is closely tied to live operations, including guest attraction systems, ticketing, point-of-sale environments, event technology, physical network infrastructure across multiple buildings, and systems that support everyday guest movement.

Work priorities shift based on events, visitor volume, maintenance windows, and operational demands. Any downtime is visible and can immediately affect guests.

Ideal Background

This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys practical infrastructure work and prefers a varied day over narrow specialization.

Relevant experience may come from attractions, museums, stadiums, theaters, live event venues, hospitality settings such as hotels, resorts, or cruise ships, MSP environments serving multiple clients, multi-site retail operations, or campus-style public-facing IT environments.

Success in this role typically comes from enjoying hands-on problem-solving across several systems, being comfortable working in equipment rooms and operational spaces, staying close to live guest activity, handling fast-changing priorities, and taking ownership of a broad range of issues.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day work will center on the following areas:

  • Manage the ongoing operation of network and infrastructure systems across multiple venues and buildings.
  • Maintain, support, and troubleshoot switches, routers, wireless networks, and firewalls in live production settings.
  • Fix infrastructure issues that affect guest-facing and operational systems.
  • Carry out physical infrastructure tasks such as installation, setup, and hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Support ticketing, POS, access control, surveillance, and event technology systems.
  • Provide real-time technical support during live operations and periods of high guest traffic.
  • Work closely with operations and guest experience teams to resolve issues quickly in active environments.
  • Investigate and resolve problems that span networking, systems, physical infrastructure, and vendor platforms.
  • Act as a key escalation contact for infrastructure-related operational issues.
  • Coordinate issue resolution and follow-through with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support planned outages, maintenance windows, and infrastructure changes.
  • Contribute to readiness for events, seasonal peaks, and other high-visibility periods.
  • Help keep systems stable and recoverable in changing operating conditions.
  • Maintain baseline infrastructure security practices, including patching, access controls, and configuration standards.
  • Partner with third-party cybersecurity providers for monitoring and incident response support.
  • Identify and escalate risks that could affect operational systems or guest experience.

Requirements

  • At least 3–5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, network support, or infrastructure-focused roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across networking, systems, and physical IT infrastructure.
  • Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and wireless networking.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, cabling, and network equipment.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments with changing operational priorities.
  • Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to support scheduled outages, events, and occasional off-hours work.
  • Background in venue, hospitality, attraction, or live operations environments is preferred.
  • MSP or multi-client infrastructure support experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS, ticketing, access control, or surveillance systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet, or comparable networking platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to AV systems, event technology, or live production environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting IT systems that directly affect real-time operations is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time salaried position with a pay range of $80,000 to $91,500 depending on experience, plus a bonus opportunity of up to 10%.

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage, with optional supplemental coverage available.
  • Optional Flexible Spending Account for the employee and dependents.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match of 50% of the first 6% contributed, equal to 3% of wages.
  • Deferred compensation into the 401(k) account at company shareholder discretion, with eligibility after one year of service and an annual entry date of October 1.
  • 15 paid personal days per year.
  • 14 days of paid time off per year.
  • Tuition reimbursement at 50%, up to $2,500 per year.
  • New child family leave for up to 4 weeks while on approved FLMA and enrolled in the company-sponsored medical plan.
  • 50% discount on many Space Needle purchases, including retail, food, and beverage.
  • Charitable contributions matching of up to $200 per year.
  • Paid parking or up to $250 per month toward an Orca card.
