Role overview

In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor and provide hands-on support across the assigned manufacturing cells. The position centers on electrical system integration, troubleshooting, lean manufacturing support, engineering change execution, inventory location setup, contract review, shop-floor instruction development, standards evaluation, and coordination of capital and facility improvements.

Key duties

  • Collaborate closely within the cell team to help the group meet operational targets and drive follow-up actions when performance gaps appear.
  • Deliver manufacturing engineering guidance and day-to-day support for the assigned cell or cells.
  • Act as the manufacturing engineering representative in daily cell huddles and weekly plant metrics meetings.
  • Keep the manufacturing cell log updated with current progress and action items tied to engineering work.
  • Plan or define equipment, tooling, and tracking solutions needed to support production.
  • Review engineering change orders within the assigned cells or option groups and help carry them through production implementation.
  • Review engineering change notices during daily and weekly meetings and ensure issues are discussed and tracked.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities such as 5S, value stream mapping, and setup reduction.
  • Take part in or lead SWAT team discussions and help coordinate cross-functional action plans to resolve issues.
  • Define and support capital investments, equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications.
  • Assist with process planning and production engineering tasks.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary background in an engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is needed.
  • Lean certification, or equivalent practical lean experience, is required.
  • Strong computer literacy and solid organizational ability are essential.
  • You should be goal-driven and able to complete assigned work within set timelines.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience in a fast-moving manufacturing setting is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Unigraphics and Oracle will be considered beneficial.
