The role is based in Stockach, near Lake Constance, and the team is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible or by mutual agreement.

Role overview

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will build intelligent algorithms for advanced detection systems that use multiple sensors. This position sits at the intersection of machine learning, embedded software, and sensor technology, with the goal of turning complex sensor inputs into dependable real-time detection performance.

You will work with an international, cross-functional team and help deliver innovative solutions for demanding real-world use cases.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine AI-driven object detection and sensor fusion models.
• Work with complicated sensor datasets and improve the performance of machine learning systems.
• Integrate software into embedded real-time environments and optimize it for performance.
• Organize, support, and evaluate field trials and system verification work.
• Help build secure and dependable software components.
• Enhance workflows for generating training data and assessing model quality.
• Partner closely with teams in software, systems, and testing.
• Investigate and apply modern machine learning and data analysis techniques.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a similar discipline.
• Practical experience in machine learning, data analysis, or AI-focused software development.
• Strong coding ability in Python and C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with embedded software and Linux-based operating systems.
• Exposure to sensor technology or multi-sensor systems is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of current collaboration and development tools such as GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.
• A structured, proactive, and solution-focused approach to work.
• Readiness to travel for field testing and international teamwork.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.
