About the role
Chipotle’s approach to fast food is built around quality, responsibility, and better ingredients. In this position, you’ll help prepare made-to-order food, handle grilling and sautéing tasks, and make sure every dish meets the company’s standards for taste and safety. The role also includes ordering product, guiding teammates, and helping develop crew members into future kitchen leaders.
This is a hands-on restaurant leadership role where you will stay active throughout the shift, support both the back-of-house and front-of-house teams, and contribute to a positive guest experience.
Key duties
- Prepare and cook food to order while following established kitchen processes and brand standards.
- Keep food quality high and address any concerns related to freshness, consistency, or preparation.
- Track inventory usage and food waste, and help maintain proper stock levels.
- Build a strong working relationship between kitchen staff and front-of-house crew members.
- Coach and develop crew members so they can grow into future kitchen leadership positions.
- Communicate clearly with both team members and customers to support service speed and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-organized kitchen environment.
- Check kitchen equipment regularly, report issues quickly, and help ensure repairs happen promptly.
- Promote safe working practices and help prevent injuries or accidents in the kitchen.
- Complete required documentation such as MSDS records and FIFO inventory rotation processes.
Requirements
- You should be able to understand and explain Chipotle’s “Food With Integrity” approach.
- Strong command of the main language(s) used at the work location is required, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- A high school diploma is required.
- Prior restaurant experience is required.
- You must be available for at least four days each week, including at least two days that fall on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.
- Open availability means you may be scheduled for any eight-hour shift on those days.
- You must be able to work at least 32 hours per week.
