Core responsibilities
The role focuses on creating and rolling out IT strategies, technology roadmaps, and business improvement plans that align with the organization’s priorities. It involves assessing business requirements, spotting opportunities for better use of technology, and proposing practical solutions that enhance efficiency, scalability, security, and overall performance.
In addition, the position manages IT projects, system rollouts, and process improvement work, with attention to planning resources, managing risks, and keeping stakeholders informed. It works closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, clarify project goals, and convert broader business objectives into workable technology solutions.
The role also reviews operational data, business results, market movements, and new technologies to identify areas for improvement and potential competitive advantage. It prepares strategic documents, business cases, performance dashboards, and executive recommendations to support leadership decisions.
Governance and improvement
Beyond project delivery, the position contributes to governance activities, policy creation, technology standards, cybersecurity awareness, and organizational change efforts. It also promotes effective project management practices, digital innovation, and strong execution of business strategy.
Qualifications and capabilities
The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of IT management, business strategy, digital transformation, project delivery, and organizational planning, along with the ability to connect technology choices to business goals. Exposure to enterprise systems, IT infrastructure, cloud environments, cybersecurity fundamentals, business process improvement, and technology governance is important. Familiarity with enterprise architecture and IT service management frameworks would be beneficial.
Strong capability in project management methods, business analysis, data interpretation, reporting tools, spreadsheets, and business intelligence platforms is expected. The role also calls for sharp analytical thinking, strategic judgment, and strong problem-solving ability to evaluate challenges, compare solutions, and turn findings into clear recommendations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are necessary, as the role requires collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, presenting strategic advice, and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Strong organization, adaptability, sound decision-making, and a commitment to continuous improvement and measurable business outcomes are also key.
