Inventory Planner

Role overview

The Inventory Planner position sits within the Supply Chain department in Atlanta, Georgia. This role focuses on keeping inventory at healthy levels, responding quickly to demand, and ensuring customers receive what they need while avoiding excess stock in slower-moving or less profitable categories.

What you will do

• Track purchasing needs and maintain inventory at appropriate levels.
• Review inventory demand and urgency to decide the most effective fulfillment approach.
• Help establish replenishment settings and guide order quantities for stocked products.
• Plan advance purchases and timed deliveries using demand trends and growth forecasts.
• Keep the purchasing team and leadership informed about changes involving sales and vendors.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers.
• Handle and resolve problems related to shipping, pricing, or quantities.
• Compile and distribute POS and consignment reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external customers to work through issues.
• Review customer forecast data, clarify expectations, and take action accordingly.

What helps you succeed

• Hands-on experience with ERP platforms that include forecasting or demand-planning features.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Proven ability to improve performance with a defined supplier base.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and a continuous-improvement mindset.
