Overview
Qatar Airways is looking for an IFEC Visual Experience Designer to join its Product Development and Design team in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on reimagining onboard passenger engagement through motion-led interface design and high-end visual storytelling.
Role Summary
In this position, you will shape the visual and animated experience of the IFEC (In-Flight Entertainment & Connectivity) platform. Your work will help define how travellers interact with the onboard entertainment system by creating polished motion graphics, animated UI assets, and engaging visual content that feels premium and intuitive.
This is a hands-on creative role that blends motion design, GUI design, and production thinking to deliver a seamless, immersive passenger journey. The work is not limited to static visuals; it involves building dynamic interface experiences that feel alive and responsive.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct motion design and animation work for GUI components across the IFEC platform to deliver a refined passenger experience.
- Create dynamic design assets such as animated menus, transitions, banners, trailers, and interactive interface elements.
- Build and uphold a consistent motion language that matches Qatar Airways’ brand identity and design standards.
- Work closely with UX/UI, technical, and operational stakeholders to make sure motion assets fit the platform’s technical limitations and requirements.
- Oversee the full production journey for motion and GUI assets, from concept through delivery and deployment.
- Contribute to the wider immersive editorial experience by developing strong visual assets that support discovery and engagement.
- Coordinate with outside agencies and motion suppliers by preparing clear briefs and setting quality expectations.
- Make sure all outputs comply with brand rules, cultural considerations, and platform specifications.
- Review visual performance and refine GUI elements based on passenger feedback and engagement insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience in motion graphics, GUI design, or visual production.
- Advanced skills in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite, plus solid working knowledge of Figma for UI/UX motion prototyping.
- Familiarity with animation delivery tools such as Lottie or ProtoPie; knowledge of Cinema 4D or another 3D tool is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GUI design fundamentals and experience creating for interactive digital platforms.
- Background delivering motion graphics and animated assets within a creative agency, broadcast, entertainment, or premium digital brand setting.
- Experience working on ambitious, visible projects where motion and immersive UI/UX are core to the user experience.
- Exposure to large-scale interactive environments such as gaming, streaming, luxury retail, automotive, or consumer technology.
- Comfort working across UX/UI workflows and collaborating with design and technical teams.
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates premium motion design, GUI animation, and visual storytelling.
