Role Summary
The Human Resources Manager, also referred to as People & Culture Manager, will lead SurePay’s people strategy, culture evolution, and organizational development agenda. The position is responsible for ensuring the company attracts, develops, and keeps strong talent while aligning staffing levels and productivity with business goals. This role also provides leadership in governance, compliance, and workforce efficiency, helping HR operate as a key driver of growth and long-term sustainability within a regulated fintech environment.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a closely related discipline is required.
- A master’s qualification in HR Management, Organizational Psychology, or an MBA is preferred.
- A recognized professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, HRCI, or an equivalent credential is mandatory.
- Solid understanding of Ugandan employment legislation, governance requirements, and modern HR practices is needed.
- Proven capability in workforce analytics, headcount planning, and measuring productivity is essential.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, analytical decision-making, and business partnering is required.
Experience
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including 3 or more years in a senior management position.
- A demonstrated track record in strategic HR leadership, workforce planning, and productivity improvement.
- Background in regulated sectors such as fintech, banking, or financial services is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in compliance management, organizational change, and governance is expected.
