Role Summary
The housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in both patient-facing and non-patient areas of the hospital. The work helps create a healthy environment for everyone in the facility and supports quality assurance and patient satisfaction goals.
Key Duties
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks each day in patient and non-patient spaces to maintain a safe, sanitary hospital setting.
- Complete more detailed cleaning work, such as high dusting and cleaning blinds, on a weekly basis or when a patient is discharged or transferred.
- Clean, sanitize, and deodorize restrooms so they continue to meet quality standards.
- Collect waste from assigned areas and move it to a central location for removal from the building.
- Take part in required training sessions, meetings, and Net Learning modules.
- Follow all safety procedures and required precautions to protect self, patients, and others, including reporting safety issues and using proper lifting methods.
- Apply the knowledge and skills needed to work appropriately with people across different stages of growth and development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Applicants must be able to read and write. No prior experience is required. The role is classified as non-exempt.
