Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

Role overview

This position sits within the housekeeping and laundry function at a Courtyard by Marriott property in Ajyad Street, Makkah al Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, non-management role based on site, supporting day-to-day cleanliness standards and room readiness across the hotel.

What you will do

• Check cleaned guest rooms, public areas, pool areas, and other spaces to make sure they meet quality expectations.
• Review sold-room reports, confirm room status, identify mismatched room records, and help prioritize which rooms need attention first.
• Monitor departing guest rooms and keep room status information current.
• Support housekeeping leadership with daily operational activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry to keep housekeeping work aligned across departments.
• Record issues related to discrepant rooms, work with the Front Desk to resolve them, and share room assignment updates with the team.
• Pass important information to the next shift and complete all necessary documentation.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members.
• Follow company safety, security, and quality procedures, and report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete required safety training and any certifications assigned by the company.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential company information and assets.
• Greet guests professionally, respond to service needs, and assist guests with disabilities when needed.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers, build positive working relationships, and respond constructively to concerns.
• Carry out physical housekeeping tasks, including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, standing, walking, and handling equipment as part of the shift.
• Use computers or point-of-sale systems to enter and find work-related information, and read information in different formats when needed.
• Take on other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No license or certification is required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 55 pounds without assistance and more than 55 pounds with help.
• Ability to push and pull loaded housekeeping carts and similar equipment over slopes and uneven surfaces.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, reach overhead and below the knees, and remain standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for long periods.
• Comfort using computers and/or point-of-sale systems for work tasks.
• Capability to read and verify information, including small-print formats.
