About the Role

UME Italian Kitchen is a contemporary Italian fast-casual restaurant concept focused on freshly made pasta, ravioli, risotto, and classic Italian flavours. The business is seeking a skilled Head Chef to oversee kitchen functions and contribute to building a consistent, scalable, and quality-led brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of daily kitchen operations and overall food preparation.
  • Create, refine, and document recipes, portions, and cooking procedures so they can be repeated consistently.
  • Protect food quality, flavour, and presentation standards across all dishes.
  • Train, guide, and develop the kitchen team while supervising day-to-day performance.
  • Handle inventory planning, purchasing, and control of food costs.
  • Reduce wastage and improve workflow and kitchen productivity.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety requirements and HACCP practices.
  • Contribute to menu creation and the introduction of new products.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience working with Italian cuisine.
  • Background as a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Senior Sous Chef.
