The role
We Are Social is hiring a Group Creative Director to help shape standout work across a growing portfolio of clients and teams. This is a senior leadership position for someone who wants to create exceptional campaigns while also elevating creative talent through thoughtful management, coaching, and development. You will guide multiple teams, accounts, and projects at once, set the bar for creative quality across the agency, and help ensure the company continues to produce distinctive, award-level work.
About the agency
We Are Social is a creative agency built around social connection. The team focuses on culturally relevant ideas and campaigns that spark conversation, with work delivered for brands such as McDonald's, Adidas, Universal Studios, and YouTube.
Who you are
You do well in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and respond with speed and initiative. You are not just interested in following trends—you want to influence them. You can take an idea from early concept through delivery, handle feedback constructively, and keep momentum strong throughout the process.
Prior traditional agency background is not essential, although it is considered an advantage. What matters most is a strong understanding of what connects with social audiences. The role calls for energy, originality, and a future-focused mindset. You will also work closely with online communities, support brands in responding to cultural moments, and help create work that earns attention for some of the world’s biggest names.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the creative vision across large, complex assignments and for keeping standards high across several teams at once.
- Make sure creative work is strategically grounded and aligned with client goals and longer-term brand value.
- Push ambitious ideas into multi-channel campaign thinking that expands what the creative can do.
- Steer projects through budget limits and shifting client priorities without lowering the agency’s quality standards.
- Lead high-level art and copy direction on complex projects so the work lands strongly at scale.
- Spot workflow issues early and introduce practical solutions that keep teams productive and focused under pressure.
- Coach and guide Creative Directors and other team leads, supporting their growth and strengthening leadership across the agency.
- Manage several creative teams and client accounts simultaneously while maintaining consistency and creative excellence.
- Build a strong, collaborative culture that helps attract and retain top creative talent.
- Strengthen client partnerships by acting as the lead creative voice on major accounts and strategic relationships.
- Balance priorities across the agency and manage team capacity so deadlines are met across different project types.
- Give direct, useful feedback based on a clear understanding of each person’s abilities and creative strengths.
- Translate client business needs into practical, high-impact creative direction.
- Confidently present and defend creative and strategic choices to senior stakeholders, including C-suite audiences.
- Work across departments to keep delivery aligned and protect the creative vision from pitch through final execution.
- Present ideas to large audiences with confidence and help sell the strongest creative recommendations.
- Use AI tools to turn research and campaign information into strategic thinking and big-idea concepts.
- Use generative tools to quickly visualize complex ideas for presentations and pitches.
- Help define the agency’s approach to AI by promoting ethical use and practical integration into creative workflows.
- Serve as a go-to resource for AI knowledge and help train teams on new capabilities and best practices.
Requirements
You should bring deep leadership experience and a strong track record of social-first creative work.
- At least 10 years of experience in an agency or in-house brand environment, including creative leadership responsibility.
- A proven history of producing standout social content for technology and/or entertainment brands, including platforms, studios, streamers, exhibitors, or franchises.
- Strong cultural awareness, especially across film, music, design, streetwear, celebrity, and online trends.
- Ability to create work that feels native to social platforms, including short-form video, motion graphics, and trending audio.
- Strong interpersonal communication with a respectful, empathetic approach to colleagues and clients.
- Experience guiding both the visual and story-driven sides of large campaign work.
- Ability to build creative strategy from market insight and client performance goals.
