Graduate Engineer

Role overview

Shanahan Engineering is hiring recent graduates in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Automation Engineering to join its engineering team and contribute to a range of power generation projects. This opportunity is aimed at candidates with limited experience after graduation who want to build a long-term career in a established engineering environment.

The Graduate Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and executing engineering projects, along with delivering specialist consultancy support on Oil & Gas and Power Generation assignments in Ireland and overseas.

What you will do

• Oversee project delivery from early approval stages through commissioning and final handover.
• Build project plans and schedules that align with company processes and meet client expectations.
• Produce commissioning documentation, as well as operation and maintenance manuals and procedures.
• Develop engineering solutions that comply with company, client, national, and international standards.
• Draft contract paperwork for the sourcing of services and materials.
• Support strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.

Required profile

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Automation Engineering is required.
• Very strong English communication skills are essential.
• Capability to prepare thorough written reports.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, both in writing and speaking.
• Comfortable explaining technical and project-related matters professionally over email.
• Works effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Good overall computer and IT proficiency.
