Role overview
This position is for an Exhaust CAD Engineer working on automotive gas path systems, with a focus on CAD design, packaging, and design release activities. The role is based in Pune and is being hiring through a walk-in process scheduled for 27 June.

Core responsibilities
- Build, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models and assemblies for gas path components using CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with the right GD&T, tolerances, and automotive drafting practices.
- Handle air intake and exhaust systems along with their mountings.
- Contribute to powertrain and vehicle-level packaging, as well as interface integration work.
- Carry out interference verification, clearance studies, and mass-property checks.
- Execute engineering changes such as ECR and ECO throughout the design cycle from KO to SOP.
- Follow OEM CAD standards, naming rules, and data-quality best practices.
- Coordinate with module leads, system engineers, and manufacturing teams to keep design work aligned.
- Assist with DFMEA, design review meetings, and prototype or vehicle build support.
- Work with suppliers for CAD exchange, quality validation, and model updates.
- Release CAD data through PLM systems according to project milestones.
Experience and skills expected
The role calls for 2 to 4 years of relevant automotive design experience, specifically with gas path system commodities. Candidates should be able to support or lead design reviews and design changes while keeping feasibility and timelines in mind. Strong working knowledge of CAD completion for S/T/P releases, commodity release and change management, Proto and Production BOMs, CATIA V5/V6 2D and 3D, PLM tools such as TeamCenter, GD&T, and MS tools like SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
Qualification
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is required.
