Entry Level Site Reliability Engineer

The position is for an early-career Site Reliability Engineer focused on keeping large-scale systems fast, stable, and resilient. The work involves supporting globally distributed infrastructure that serves a very large user base, with a strong emphasis on automation, self-service, and operational excellence.

This opportunity is only open to candidates located in the Republic of Ireland.

What you will do

• Partner with product and engineering teams to support new features and services.
• Create tooling that improves observability, stability, and performance across the platform.
• Help maintain reliability and scalability goals, including service-level objectives.
• Investigate production issues using tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Build automation using Python, Puppet, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and other AI-assisted tooling.
• Develop in-house solutions when standard tools are not sufficient for the scale of the platform.
• Contribute back to open source when appropriate.
• Take part in a limited on-call rotation supported by globally distributed teams, so no one is on call around the clock.

What you need to succeed

• Comfort working with Linux and a willingness to deepen your knowledge.
• Working knowledge of at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Practical exposure to infrastructure as code and configuration management tools like Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of core networking and web concepts including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, container orchestration, and related datastore or streaming technologies.
• Awareness of monitoring approaches and the basics of performance, reliability, and security.
• Strong communication and documentation ability.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a habit of learning continuously.
