Descrição da vaga
Overview
This opportunity is for a founding Engineering Manager to help launch a new digital-asset payments business from the ground up. The venture is being built within a fast-scaling, multi-market fintech group in Asia and is supported by top-tier global investors. The product vision spans wallets, stablecoins, and on/off-ramp infrastructure, combining startup pace with the backing and reach of an established regional group.
The selected person will be among the earliest technical hires and will play a central role in shaping the product, technology, and team. This is a highly hands-on leadership position where you will guide architecture, influence make-or-buy decisions, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders across the full build cycle.
Core scope
You will lead engineering execution across wallet systems, payments, custody integrations, KYC, ledger services, and account management. The role also includes establishing the founding engineering team, defining the hiring bar, and creating the rituals and culture that will support the team from day one.
You will be expected to create a practical integration approach for third-party infrastructure partners, make clear build-versus-buy decisions, and help ensure the engineering function is AI-native by design. Collaboration with product, design, compliance, and legal teams across several regulatory jurisdictions will be an essential part of the job.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings deep software engineering experience, strong leadership background, and the ability to operate credibly at both technical and strategic levels. You should be comfortable making architectural decisions across the stack, leading distributed teams, and working in regulated environments with significant scrutiny.
A startup or scale-up mindset is important, along with a genuine player-coach approach: someone who can manage teams while staying close enough to the code to contribute meaningfully to technical decisions and delivery.
Additional requirements
Experience with regulated financial products and on-chain products is expected. Exposure to modern payments, digital banking, crypto exchange, or regulated fintech environments is also important. Stronger consideration may be given to candidates with hands-on experience in Web3 infrastructure, wallet architecture, signing systems, blockchain or distributed ledger technologies, core banking, ledger management, or fraud and AML tooling.
Prior experience as a founding engineer or an early engineering leader on a new product line or business vertical is considered a strong advantage.
Application note
Because of the expected volume of interest, only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
