Role summary

The Procurement Engineer will handle the full cycle of procurement work, making sure sourcing is completed on time, follows governance requirements, and supports operational as well as production needs. This is a delivery-focused role covering sourcing activities, vendor coordination, and contract execution, while more strategic decisions and difficult negotiations are escalated to the Procurement Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Run procurement workflows such as issuing RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs according to approved procurement plans.
• Collect bids, conduct commercial and technical assessments, and prepare award recommendation reports.
• Raise purchase orders and ensure they are issued promptly and in line with business needs.
• Keep procurement activities aligned with timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Assist with identifying, onboarding, and prequalifying suppliers.
• Maintain supplier records and ensure documents and files are properly organized.
• Track supplier performance against delivery dates, quality expectations, and service commitments.
• Highlight supplier delays, risks, and performance concerns to management.
• Help draft and review contracts with Legal and the Procurement Manager.
• Manage contracts after award by tracking deliverables, milestones, and compliance obligations.
• Support the handling of variation orders, claims, and related paperwork.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Quality teams to clarify procurement needs.
• Follow up on technical specifications, delivery plans, and required approvals.
• Make sure procurement outputs match operational and project schedules.
• Ensure all procurement work complies with company policy, Delegation of Authority requirements, and relevant regulations.
• Keep records complete and accurate to support audit preparedness.
• Apply ethical sourcing practices and maintain transparency.
• Update and protect the accuracy of procurement information in ERP systems.
• Prepare operational reports on procurement progress, cycle times, and supplier performance.
• Support KPI tracking and reporting for procurement activities.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline is required.
• At least 3 to 5 years of practical procurement experience, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering settings.
• Demonstrated experience with RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluation, and purchase order handling.
• Working knowledge of Saudi procurement regulations and standard contract terms is needed.
• Hands-on exposure to ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
• Experience with CAPEX or technical procurement will be considered an advantage.
• Understanding of INCOTERMS, logistics coordination, and customs procedures is beneficial.
