Role overview
Working alongside the Underground Mobile Maintenance team, this role is responsible for owning and improving asset strategies for the mobile fleet. The position focuses on performance analysis, reliability improvement, safety enhancement, and creating sustainable value through better asset management.
This is an important reliability role within the OceanaGold Asset Management Framework, driving fleet performance, eliminating defects, and supporting decisions with data.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out criticality reviews of assets, define suitable risk controls, and coordinate alignment with key stakeholders.
- Create and refine maintenance plans and tactics, including service intervals and spare parts holding levels.
- Maintain accurate master data in Pronto CMMS, such as asset registers, preventive maintenance activities, and bills of materials.
- Review operational and maintenance performance data through both ad hoc analysis and formal reporting.
- Drive structured defect elimination and continuous improvement work to address recurring performance issues.
- Track asset condition and advise on corrective actions based on condition monitoring findings.
- Use fleet management and Pronto information to monitor results and report on performance.
- Lead root cause analysis for losses and near misses.
Measures of success
- Higher availability and reliability across the underground mobile fleet.
- Lower levels of unplanned downtime.
- Better identification and removal of repeat defects.
- Root cause analysis completed on time and to a high standard.
- More effective maintenance strategies, reflected in preventive maintenance compliance versus corrective work.
- Better quality and use of asset data in Pronto and reporting tools.
Required experience and qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working with data.
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance reliability within mining or a similar heavy industry.
- A tertiary engineering qualification is preferred.
